JME Consulting, Inc. is a multifaceted consulting firm offering services to both consumers and industry.  Established in 1986, principal Joan Eisenberg, CMKBD, ASID, CFCS, affectionately referred to by many clients as “my kitchen lady” is a Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer who has embraced the highest standards of professionalism for herself and those she works with. Based in Baltimore, MD, USA, Joan will travel to the “ends of the earth” for the opportunity to share her talents with others.  She is also very comfortable consulting by phone, fax, e-mail and “snail mail. Her design services include the following: kitchens, bathrooms, home offices and other rooms needing space planning and cabinetry design, showrooms, exhibit displays, model home design and much, much, more.  Exercising a personal interest in  "Accessibility Services" long before it was fashionable, has given Joan insight into the needs of people with both temporary and permanent limitations.  Her degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education lends credibility to Joan’s training and training development, public speaking and writing expertise.  Because of Joan extensive contacts she has become a resource for editors to scout projects that are print worthy.

WHAT IS A FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENTIST?

A Family and Consumer Scientist is part of a multi-dimensional profession based on the interaction of food, clothing, shelter and "family" to enhance the lifestyles of today. Family and Consumer Scientists are graduates of four year college programs that give them minors in science, psychology, business or perhaps education. Subjects such as space planning, kitchen efficiency, motion mindedness, household equipment, home management, personal finance, food and nutrition, interior design and family development are among the topics that give a Family and Consumer Scientist expertise in fields vital to working with "families".

WHY CERTIFICATION?

Certification by a professional association is designed to give the public an assurance of competency and concern for public safety by those members that are certified. In addition to initial certification requirements, a person who has attained Certified or "Professional" status has agreed to meet the requirements of continuing education set forth by the certifying association. For example, a Certified Kitchen/Bathroom Designer is a professional, qualified by education and experience to research, design, plan and supervise the installation of residential kitchens or bathrooms. The CKD/CBD has proven technical understanding, knowledge and ability to communicate ideas during a stringent examination conducted by the Certification Test Board of the National Kitchen & Bath Association. The CKD/CBD has also agreed to meet the continuing education requirements established by the National Kitchen & Bath Association. Joan has achieved the Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer designation, the highest certification bestowed by the National Kitchen and Bath Association .
